
Environmental Sounds
For environmental sounds within a video game the use of map based trigger are utilized.
When using map-based actors you can set a min and max distance for which the sounds can be heard from within the game map. The idea here is that you want to create a sense of immersion for the game. By varying the sounds and music throughout the game you can achieve a more interesting an aurorally engaging game.

Below are the sounds used within the UDK game engine to create an immersive environment. The sounds used will lead the player into a deeper connection with the game, characters and situations. Environmental sounds were implemented using UDK’s trigger sound actor. These actors allow the programmers to put sounds into the game that will be triggered by the player when they come in contact with an object or area of the game map.
